According to reports more than 60% students in India are unemployed upon graduation. Even worse, more than half of these students remain under-employed for more than a decade past their graduation. They are less likely to reach their full potential in their entire career journey. Inspite of multiple job boards and platforms, connecting the early talent with matching work opportunities remains a massive challenge. There is an opportunity loss to the extent of $30B each year along with loss of valuable human potentialities.

More than 2/3rd campuses are in tier 2 & tier 3 cities in India where fewer companies go for campus placements. Students in these campuses also lack opportunities to level up their skill gaps as per the requirements in the industries due to limited avenues for industry connects. Companies also find it difficult to reach multiple campuses to source right talent due to time and/or financial constraints.

Sociocharge is changing the equations. It is linking skilled college students regardless of campus they go to or what they study with skill-matched job opportunities. It seems similar to other professional network platforms such as LinkedIn. However, Linkedin is more for mid-career level professionals and doesn’t fit well with the needs & aspirations of early talent who do not have prior work experience and/or social capital.
